Rocky River Police Officers participated in the Department's first Coffee With a Cop program on Wednesday, June 1st at Panera Bread.
The event was sponsored by the Rocky River Citizen Police Academy Alumni Association, and the program brings together officers and community members to discuss issues and learn more about each other. The mission is to break down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve while enjoying a cup of coffee together.
Coffee with a Cop events are agenda-free with no speeches or specific topics. The officers have no barriers such as radios, patrol cars or cell phones, so police are more approachable for relaxed conversations with community members. The informal meetings offer opportunities to build relationships so officers can better problem solve with the public.
